Aniko Group has secured approval from the Gold Coast City Council for their&nbsp;$2 billion, four-tower Mermaid Beach development which they're calling <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/the-landmark-14-seaview-avenue-mermaid-beach">The Landmark</a>.

Set to launch early next year, The Landmark on a prime, long vacant 1.1-hectare site on the corner of the Gold Coast Highway and Seaview Avenue will comprise residential, hotel, retail, hospitality, and commercial spaces, as well as significant amenity for future residents.

Mastrocostas’ plans include three residential towers of 25, 30 and 40 storeys - and a further 53-level tower that will include a mix of hotel suites and private hotel branded residences.

“<a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/the-landmark-14-seaview-avenue-mermaid-beach">The Landmark</a>, designed by award-winning firm Plus Architecture, will deliver a collection of 821 residences, over 10,000 sqm of A-grade commercial office and medical space and a vibrant new casual fine dining and beverage precinct on the ground floor,” Mastrocostas said.

Apartments have been designed to cater to a range of buyers, and residents will have access to world-class amenities on an expansive one hectare recreation podium.

Prolific Gold Coast developer <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developers/aniko-group">Aniko Group</a> is set to break ground on its next project, the $150 million <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/orama-12-16-weemala-street-chevron-island">Orama</a> apartments at <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developments/chevron-island-qld">Chevron Island</a>.

<a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/orama-12-16-weemala-street-chevron-island">Orama</a> is the latest in a project portfolio of more than $2 billion by the George Mastrocostas-led <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developers/aniko-group">Aniko Group</a>.

<a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developers/aniko-group">Aniko</a> has switched its attention to the central <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developments/gold-coast-qld">Gold Coast</a> suburb of <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developments/chevron-island-qld">Chevron Island</a> after completing the largest suburb transformation of <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developments/hope-island-qld">Hope Island</a> where the company has all but sold out more than $500 million of residential apartment and townhouse product.

Once complete, <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/orama-12-16-weemala-street-chevron-island">Orama</a> will comprise 102 residences and include two-bedroom apartments from $995,000 to $1.45 million and a range of three-bedroom skyhomes from $1,995,000, offering panoramic views over the central <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developments/gold-coast-qld">Gold Coast</a> skyline.

The project is targeting local downsizers and interstate migrators and is well on its way to a successful sellout.

“We’ve been able to redeploy our construction teams after what has been an amazing five-year journey in which we have successfully sold and built some 630 new residential dwellings in <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developments/hope-island-qld">Hope Island</a>,” Mastrocostas added.

Mastrocostas said the project had achieved almost $100 million in unconditional sales since its launch to the market earlier this year.

He said some buyers had sold in existing <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developments/chevron-island-qld">Chevron Island</a> projects or had come from other projects that had yet to proceed.

Aniko to kick off construction of Chevron Island apartment development, Orama

After undertaking over $500 million worth of projects since 2018, the Southport-based Aniko Group has become&nbsp;the only Gold Coast builder to be ranked among The BCI Construction League’s top 30 construction companies nationally for 2022.

Aniko Group, founded and led by George Mastrocostas who has more than 20 years experience in the development industry, has debuted on the BCI list at number 27.

The company was one of only a handful of Queensland builders and the only Gold Coast builder to be ranked in the list. It was also one of the few integrated development groups to make the top 30 behind the likes of Lendlease and Mirvac.

The BCI Construction League lists the nation’s top 50 builders, including developer-builders, and ranks them by the total value of projects they have commenced construction in any given year.

The BCI Construction League lists just three projects for Aniko Group in 2022, which is the lowest number of project starts of any company in the top 30.

The three projects have a total end value of $318 million, making the average value of each project $106 million, and on this metric Aniko Group is positioned at number eight among the nation’s top 50 builders.

Mastrocostas says the debut ranking in the BCI Construction League is among the many achievements by Aniko Group since he founded the company five years ago. Aniko Group is widely acknowledged for singlehandedly changing the face of Hope Island through a series of sold-out luxury apartment projects, including its latest, the $150 million Athena Quays.

“We’re especially proud to be among the few fully integrated developers and builders to be included in the BCI list,” Mastrocostas said.

“The ranking sets our company apart from our competitors amid the challenges faced by the construction industry. We are very proud of what we have achieved to date and for the plans we have in train to meet continued demand for new residences on the Gold Coast.”

The company is also finalising designs for a <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/news/qld/aniko-lodge-plans-for-1-5-billion-mermaid-beach-development">landmark $1.5 billion four-tower development</a> on a long-vacant site at Mermaid Beach. The mixed-use development will deliver a range of residential, commercial, hotel and dining facilities to the waterfront site which is located next to the entrance of Pacific Fair shopping centre.

Mastrocostas said the strength of Aniko Group’s workbook is founded through the combination of innovative projects and its capabilities to deliver on its vision through its dedicated construction division.
