Interesting, it seems that only the penthouses will have balconies.

I collect, therefore I am.

Has anyone heard anything about this one? I keep emailing and calling the Agent with no response or call back. We need to plan alternate living arrangements but need to know an estimated completion date and with no response, it's hard to organise anything!

seems to be in a state of flux

I've always found people are more inclined to take notice when you're directly before them. Maybe a trip to the real estate firms offices to politely request a time for a meeting with the agent. Works better than a missed phone call.

I finally got a response. Construction not expected to be completed until first half of 2015. Not happy!

Going by that, the developer should have chosen a builder and started ground and preliminary works already. Highly doubt this deadline will be met...

Out to tender again

juliebean's picture

Not happy with this at all. Almost wishing for them to default and refund the deposit (one can only hope). Out to tender again is just ridiculous. The fact that they've given themselves 48 months to register the Plan of Sub from the date of contract is even more frustrating - seems very excessive. I know that's the risk with off-the-plans, but overall this has been very disappointing.

I've had a similar experience to an 'off the plan' purchase in Port Melbourne so much so that I'll never do it again. I finally got out of the contract after threatening them with legal action . From now on a project has to be started before I risk my money with some of these cowboys.

I hear this could go ahead soon. Watch this space. Those north facing apartments are going to get a great view!

Hamilton Marino have been appointed as builder

juliebean's picture

I drove past on the weekend to check out if there has been any movement.
Nothing.
Only thing different is that Hamilton Marino have put their signs on the fences.
All calls to Castran Gilbert go unanswered and after countless emails, I'm still not on their mailing list.

Any update on this one?
Has the construction finally started?

Walked past yesterday, didn't seem like any work has started just Hamilton Marino signage has been put up as mentioned by juliebean, i guess it's a step forward but who know's when it will begin. I find it amusing that all over the display suite and website it says 'construction commenced' when in fact it hasn't at all...

Maybe Hamilton Marino has over commitment issues as the previous appointed builder. Their website doesn't mention anything about Banque88.

Below latest update from Castran Gilbert.

Development & Planning

Wednesday, December 13, 2017 - 12:00
The swirl of development activity in Footscray has found another gear as new projects are submitted for approval, or are on the verge of beginning construction. Two separate planning applications have been advertised by Maribyrnong City Council; their subsequent addition to the Urban Melbourne Project Database has seen the overall number of apartment developments within Footscray in development swell to 40.

Policy, Culture & Opinion

The marriage of old and new can be a difficult process, particularly when the existing structure has intrinsic heritage value. In previous times Fitzroy's 237 Napier Street served as the home of furniture manufacturer C.F. Rojo and Sons. Taking root during 1887, Christobel Rojo oversaw operations though over time the site would become home to furniture manufacturer Thonet.

The former site of John Batman's home, Batman's Hill is entering the final stages of its redevelopment. Collins Square's final tower has begun its skyward ascent, as has Lendlease's Melbourne Quarter Commercial and Residential precinct already. Melbourne Quarter's first stage is at construction and involves a new 12-storey home for consultancy firm Arup along with a skypark.

Transport & Design

Friday, December 15, 2017 - 11:00
Infrastructure Victoria unveiled a new round of research into its larger programme of work dealing with managing transport demand. The authority contracted Arup and KPMG to produce the Melbourne Activity Based Model (MABM) and while it is new, it is considered fit for purpose in the strategic context.

Sustainability & Environment

Cbus Property's office development for Medibank at 720 Bourke Street in Docklands recently became the first Australian existing property to receive a WELL Certification, Gold Shell and Core rating. The WELL rating goes beyond sustainable building features with a greater focus on the health and well-being of a building's occupants.
