Breakfast at Dench Bakers in Fitzroy North is awesome. Bacon was great this morning... depending on how tonight goes, could need that bacon in the morning also lol

Also Code Black Coffee next to Barkly Square in Brunswick is quite good, but the service is a little slow...

You want good bacon, you can't beat The European on Spring Street for breakfast!

Went to Small Victories on Rathdowne St... got some bacon... eggs and mushrooms. Bit expensive and the coffee wasn't to my liking but still satisfactory.

Had a great breakfast this morning at a relatively new restaurant in my neighbourhood, Operator 25, 25 Wills Street, Melbourne.

Their Hangover Breakfast hit the spot (2 eggs on bread, bacon, hash-brown, chorizo sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes) and the coffee was excellent as well!

The place has contemporary rustic interior styling with brick walls and large tables (perfect if you order a few items and are worried about space), chairs are comfortable and the staff were very friendly and always smiling.

Will definitely be returning! yes

Chris I recently tried Hardware Society and left feeling very confused. How this place rates so high I have no idea. Our of interest could you tell me what other breakfast venues you like?

Yeah same here. The coffee at hardware society is OK and the food was OK too. I think it rates so well is because there are a few people that live nearby and it is the only cafe open in the immediate area on the weekend. They would be raking in the moolah. Hrmm let me think, I live in the inner north and really like Dench Bakers and St Ali North. In the CBD on weekdays, Manchester Press is great and so is Krimper (located just behind the near Brady towers on Little Lonsdale St). Also like Three bags full in Abbotsford, Atomica and Breakfast Thieves in Fitzroy and Two Birds One Stone in South Yarra. Hope this helps!

City of Port Phillip will this week indicate that it has sufficient reason to object to two pending projects in Port Melbourne. 17 Rocklea Drive and 365-391 Plummer Street are both within the Wirraway Precinct of Fishermans Bend, and both projects are under the authority of the Minister for Planning.

The marriage of old and new can be a difficult process, particularly when the existing structure has intrinsic heritage value. In previous times Fitzroy's 237 Napier Street served as the home of furniture manufacturer C.F. Rojo and Sons. Taking root during 1887, Christobel Rojo oversaw operations though over time the site would become home to furniture manufacturer Thonet.

The former site of John Batman's home, Batman's Hill is entering the final stages of its redevelopment. Collins Square's final tower has begun its skyward ascent, as has Lendlease's Melbourne Quarter Commercial and Residential precinct already. Melbourne Quarter's first stage is at construction and involves a new 12-storey home for consultancy firm Arup along with a skypark.

Spring Street has released details of a large shutdown of the Pakenham/Cranbourne and Frankston lines which will allow workers to complete major upgrades to the rail infrastructure. The work is required to allow for the introduction of the new High Capacity Metro Trains (HCMTs) and will involve upgrading power & catenary, signalling and communications equipment in the Dandenong (Pakenham/Cranbourne) corridor.

Cbus Property's office development for Medibank at 720 Bourke Street in Docklands recently became the first Australian existing property to receive a WELL Certification, Gold Shell and Core rating. The WELL rating goes beyond sustainable building features with a greater focus on the health and well-being of a building's occupants.
