Honouring tradition with timeless architecture: Inside King & Phillip

Developer Galileo Group has paid homage to the historical surroundings of their completed Sydney project, King & Phillip.

With a design by the architects at FJMT that embraces a design inspired by the golden ratio, a ratio which generally takes the form of the golden rectangle. Many Ancient Greek buildings used the golden ratio, as did Notre Dame, and the more recently built United Nations HQ in New York City.

King & Phillip comprises 127 one, two and three-bedroom apartments on the corner of King & Phillip Streets, ideally located on the fringe of Hyde Park near Martin Place.

One of the key focuses in the design of King & Phillip was to maximise natural sunlight, along with blending the outdoors with the indoors.

Upon first glimpse of the 27-storey tower, residents are greeted by two proportioned colonnades which exudes a regal aura, with the street level facade featuring symmetrical arches that are adorned with woodwork.

Crowning the development is private rooftop terraces, which feature extensive glass detailing.

The building also incorporates sustainable rainwater collection and a unique slanted form that ensures solar access to the neighbouring Hyde Park.

One of the biggest drivers in sales at King & Phillip has been the location.

The tower is just 200 metres to St James Train Station, while also being close to other major transport links. Residents will be within an easy stroll to Sydney's galleries, museums, theatres, shops, bars and restaurants, along with having the Royal Botanical Gardens and Mrs Macquarie's Chair nearby.
