The transformation of a vacant site in West Ryde is well underway, as the NSW Government invests $55 million into a new residential development by Billbergia.

The project consists of three apartment buildings, collectively housing 150 units, including 30 designated for social housing tenants.

The first building in the project, Parade, is situated on a narrow site to the north of West Ryde's railway station.

Designed by PTW Architects, the architecture of Parade pays homage to the surrounding street context, drawing inspiration from Sydney's traditional brick apartment typology, the three-storey walk-up. Each of the six-storey buildings features a cubic brick base that serves as a tripartite anchoring element.

While the project initially offered a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, only the one-bedroom floorplans remain available, with prices starting at $695,000.

The design of The Parade combines the solidity of the brick bases with taller curved and glazed levels that feature pronounced and rounded horizontals, with the architectural approach reflecting the movement of nearby rail tracks.

Inside The Parade, the interiors have been designed to provide a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, enhancing the overall living and dining experience.

The apartments boast high-end features such as stone kitchen splashbacks and reconstituted stone countertops with a 20 millimetre solid edge, along with Artusi appliances, including an electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, gas cooktop, ducted rangehood, and combination washer and dryer, all of which are Australian branded and backed by a 5-year warranty.

The development also emphasises sustainability and community well-being. Open spaces with thoughtfully landscaped areas are incorporated between each building, providing residents with access to greenery and outdoor leisure spaces, in addition to a rooftop terrace.
