National integrated property developer and investor, Cbus Property has announced the appointment of Hutchinson Builders on the next phase of works on its residential tower on the Brisbane CBD riverfront, 443 Queen St.

They'll be taking over from the collapsed builder Probuild, who were in the final stages of the construction process before their demise.

The announcement marks Cbus Property’s third collaboration with Australia’s largest privately owned builder, following appointments on the 205 North Quay commercial office tower in Brisbane, which is currently under construction, and The Langston Epping, a recently completed three-tower residential development in Sydney’s north west.

Cbus Property’s Chief Executive Officer, Adrian Pozzo, said the business was again “proud to partner with Hutchies”.

“We are confident the appointment of Hutchinson Builders, one of Australia’s most renowned and reliable builders, will deliver this iconic residential tower for Brisbane’s city skyline to the highest possible standard,” he said.

“As communicated to our purchasers, since commencing preliminary works on site three weeks ago, Cbus Property, together with Hutchinson Builders, continues to finalise subcontractor negotiations and prepare a revised construction programme. Once finalised, we will provide an update to purchasers with a more definitive completion timeline.”

Hutchinson Builders’ Director, Russell Fryer, confirmed that the contractor was already on site at 443 Queen St, with initial works underway.

“We have a long and proud history delivering similar premium high-rise residential projects across Australia,” he said.

“We have a handpicked team that has recently completed a five-star hotel, The Langham Gold Coast, demonstrating our ability to achieve the high-quality outcomes expected for 443 Queen St, and we are working closely with Cbus Property, the consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to successfully complete this landmark building for Brisbane.”

Pozzo said that despite the delays to construction, Cbus Property remained focused on ensuring the successful completion of 443 Queen St and delivering one of the highest-quality residential buildings to be developed in the area.

“We continue to reassure purchasers that this unique residential development is nearing completion, and that we will deliver a landmark building with the utmost attention to detail and finish,” he said.
