The vibrant and funky Fitzroy is set for its next apartment development.

Boutique property developers Urban have launched their latest project, 25 Smith, with the project only growing the group’s already substantial portfolio across Melbourne’s inner-city.

The group began as a collaboration between colleagues Bart O’Callahan and Tony Suttle and now includes a hand-picked specialist team of property-focused staff across both Melbourne and Sydney.

Just 23 apartments will be delivered across the aptly named project at 25 Smith Street, with Urban engaging experienced construction firm Hamilton Marino to build the $44 million development.

The building’s durable materials, flexible spaces, and extensive landscaping all contribute to the ongoing transformation of the precinct’s industrial past to one of Melbourne’s most liveable suburbs.

In collaboration with Clare Cousins Architects, 25 Smith will present a mix of two and three-bedroom apartments, designed to suit the local down-sizer and owner-occupier market, spanning from 91 sqm to 390 sqm.

Just 18 of the apartments have launched to market, with the opportunity remaining for buyers to amalgamate residences to create two additional full-floor apartments.

“Natural stone, textured timbers and warm colours have been selected throughout the interiors which embody a sense of timelessness and calm, acting as a backdrop to the individuality of daily life,” Urban say.

“Room to breathe and an abundance of natural light, allow the restrained sophistication of these spaces to shine through, featuring subtly contrasting textures and superb, high-quality finishes.”

The community will be connected through shared spaces, providing both indoor and outdoor opportunities for gathering and wellness.

A residence-only "Wellness Zone" is set to include an Infra-red sauna and plunge pool, while the ground floor retail space will further integrate the building into the fabric of Fitzroy.

Solar power generation and electric vehicle charging will also be on offer across the development, coupled with the abolishment of gas and high-quality water-sensitive fixtures, all helping to provide a responsible and future-focused home at 25 Smith.

Completion on the project is slated for the end of 2024.
