Projects by Buxton has broken the Glen Iris record for an apartment, selling an amalgamation of two penthouses off-the-plan within LDS Property’s Galerie project.

The combined spread achieved close to $4 million, topping the $3.7 million record which was set in 2017 when a nearby penthouse sold.

Galerie has now secured over $10.7 million in sales since launching to the market late last year.

Projects by Buxton Director Heath Thompson said the record-breaking sale and strong interest in the project is evidence that the luxury apartment market is still thriving.

“The low stock levels in the market are making it really difficult for buyers to find their dream space or home that feels like theirs," Thompson said.

"Off the plan sales are thriving in this climate, with buyers loving being able to tailor a high-quality product to their lifestyle needs.

“Whilst the amalgamation of two penthouses has created a unique standard of luxurious living in Glen Iris, the whole project is focused on fulfilling the buyer's needs and creating high-end apartments that feature a bespoke and expansive design."

Located on High Street, Galerie will offer a collection of 29 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, designed by Ewert Leaf and surrounded by verdant landscaping by John Patrick Landscape Architects.

The local buyer is downsizing and was attracted to the high-end design of Galerie. The buyer worked with the team, Projects by Buxton, LDS Property, and Ewert Leaf, to add a bespoke and special touch to the home, all of which are geared to their love for luxury finishes.

“When downsizing we didn’t want to move into a cookie-cutter apartment and have loved the process of adding bespoke features and luxury additions," the buyer said.

“The team has been great in working with us to redesign the whole internal space following the joining of two penthouses and have gone above and beyond to ensure the space feels like ours."

Two-bedroom residences start from $849,000, while the three-bedroom apartments are priced from $1,159,000.

Buyers will be privy to a world-renowned collection of private artworks, innovative architecture and lush outdoor spaces within Galerie, with the building also designed with a strong sense of artistry, forming a distinctly timeless aesthetic composed of brick, timber and concrete.

Residents are greeted by a gallery-style lobby featuring a bespoke Chaumet Chandelier and textured walls lined with a curated private collection of world-class artworks.

All open-planned living spaces are designed to flow seamlessly out to the courtyards and balconies, with large windows and sliding doors to provide a direct integration into the surrounding landscape.

A builder is set to be appointed in the coming weeks, with demolition works on the site recently completed.
